Free Tax Prep & Filing - No Appointment Needed
Tuesdays January 24 to April 18, 2023
9:30 am - 4:00 pm

Free tax prep to all individual filers. All are welcome; no age or income restrictions. Particularly suited for low- and middle-income households, and those over 60. Prepared/Filed by IRS-Certified Counselors and Administered through the AARP/VITA/IRS Volunteer Tax Assistance program.
Bring all 2022 tax report forms (W-2s, 1099s, brokerage statements, etc.);
Social Security and official photo identification; health insurance documentation (Form 1095-A) and, if possible, your 2021 return.

OBOT 2023: I Keep Trying to Catch His Eye by Ivan Maisel
This year’s OBOT selection is I Keep Trying to Catch His Eye by Ivan Maisel, a Fairfield resident.
For Teens and middle school readers the titles are Hope Wins: A Collection of Inspiring Stories for Young Readers and also Hope Nation: YA Authors Share Personal Moments of Inspiration. For Children, the title is The Rhino Suit by Colter Jackson.

Winter Reading Challenge 2023
From January 1st to February 19th, Fairfield Public Library is participating in Beanstack’s Fifth Annual Winter Reading Challenge, sponsored by Lerner Publishing Group. “Read for a Better World” encourages readers of all ages to explore diversity, empathy, and action through literature. Our community has unlimited access to Lerner’s “Read for a Better World” themed books for the month of January through the challenge activities!
We challenge our patrons to earn at least 500 points during the month and keep track of their reading on our Beanstack site at fairfieldpubliclibrary.beanstack.org. Earn points by reading, writing book reviews, and attending library events.
