Winter Reading Challenge

From January 1st to February 13th, Fairfield Public Library will participate in Beanstack’s Fourth Annual Winter Reading Challenge, sponsored by Simon & Schuster. Books Like Us is a celebration of diversity, harnessing the transformative power of seeing oneself reflected in a book. This Winter, participating communities are invited to explore these books, from authors spanning an array of diverse backgrounds.

Specifics of the Winter Reading Challenge:

We challenge our patrons to earn at least 500 points during the month and keep track of their reading on our Beanstack site at

Go to your Beanstack account to register online starting today! When you register as a family, you will have one username and password to log-in for all readers. Don’t remember your login information? Recover your password through the login screen. Need help? Give us a call or send us an email and we will assist you.

Earn points by reading, writing book reviews, and attending virtual library events.

You can read anything you like! Need inspiration? Ask a Librarian or find recommendations here:

Go online to your Beanstack account and log the number of minutes you’ve read, beginning January 1st. Every minute you read will earn you 1 point.

**Remember, you can log reading minutes as a family, so grown-ups can use these minutes towards their own 500 points!**

For every badge you unlock, you earn a ticket toward our Grand Prize Ticket Drawing. There are weekly prizes, too! Every Monday, we will raffle off 3 gift cards to Amazon. Readers who log their minutes read will be automatically entered to win!

Thousands of libraries and schools across the nation will encourage their communities to read a target number of minutes and books. Top-performing libraries and schools will earn rewards from Simon & Schuster, including book collections and virtual author visits.

Happy reading, Fairfield!
