Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim

I was certain that this narrative would wow me with its flawless world-building and rich mythology, easy-going writing style that masterfully conveys interesting legends, and compelling characters that readers would want to support. This is a truly well-rounded novel that meets every expectation, as was to be expected.

The only drawback is that, in my opinion, Seryu the Dragon was the most engaging character throughout yet had very little page time which was a real bummer. The next novel, however, is planned to take place in the world of dragons, therefore I am extremely hopeful that Seryu will have a bigger role in the narrative.
