Akemi Dawn Bowman, author of Starfish, an award winning novel, does it again. The recently published book, Harley In the Sky, is the story of a young girl facing conflict when seen chasing her dreams. The circus life is a rare experience, only placed on a small portion of the population. Harley Milano takes after her parents in her dream of becoming a trapeze star. With her parents running a renowned circus in California she doesn’t find it difficult to attain this goal. She takes after her parents’ current trapeze artist and watches her perform frequently and wishes to be in her shoes one day. The only problem is that her parents want the exact opposite. When suggesting college to Harley, she has to decide who she will please, her parents or herself.
