The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins

Most avid readers know the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It’s one of the most widely celebrated and read books ever written, and the trilogy has inspired many other authors to create books along the lines of Suzanne Collins’ masterpiece. The only problem is, the book left a lot of questions unanswered, and personally, I wanted some closure. Originally, I envisioned a “10 years later” type of book or short story, but interestingly, to understand the future, I had to look into the past first. On May 19, 2019, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins was published as an e-book due to COVID, and it was incredible. The book follows the story of Coriolanus Snow, who is better known as President Snow, the main antagonist in the Hunger Games trilogy. It shows Snow’s earlier days, before he was a President, before he became the antagonist, and how the change happened, because of one ultra-important girl by the name of Lucy Gray. I won’t spoil it anymore. Overall, 10-10, it’s a must read.
