Ski Weekend is the kind of novel you bring with you on a cozy trip up North during the late fall or early winter seasons. With dynamic characters and secrets unraveling, it’s most definitely thriller material.
Sam is thrust into a school ski trip that she isn’t keen on attending. The students her brother is driving to the resort are the last people Sam wishes to be around (minus her best friend), but when they don’t even reach their destination, courtesy of a snow-bank crash mid-drive, they don’t have much of a choice other than staying close together indefinitely.
Rektok Ross thrusts the reader down a harrowing and emotional ride with an hour-by-hour update on dwindling supplies, interpersonal drama, and paranoia. Apart from being trapped inside a car with the gas tank running out and the blizzard of the century encroaching upon them, Sam must navigate betrayal, tough choices, and moral dilemmas, all staple ingredients in any blood-pulsing survival novel.
