Welcome to Camp Killer by Cynthia Murphy is a story about a group of eight camp counselors who arrive at camp the day before the campers arrive to help set up.
This story takes place in modern day England and the setting is in the woods. The reader and the counselors learn early on about the dark side of the camp. There is an old haunted house nearby that makes the counselors worried and suspicious.
Since this is a thriller, I can’t give too many details away but readers should know there are a lot of turns and some gore in the story.
Maybe it is because I have been a counselor at a sleep away camp before, but I enjoyed the thriller and horror parts of the story. Every camp has scary stories that get told there and this book shows what it would be like if they actually came true.
I appreciate the dyslexia friendly font, it makes for easy reading. I recommend this book to people who like thriller and a little bit of a scare.
