In accordance with the Town of Fairfield Health Department and the recommendation of the CT Department of Public Health, face masks are required in Fairfield Public Library buildings.

Visit CT Department of Public Health for further information regarding settings where there is likely to be a mix of vaccinated and unvaccinated people (including children younger than 12 years).
We are working under the guidance of the Town of Fairfield Health Department as we continue to resume more in-person library service.

Information services are available by phone (203) 256-3160, email at and text messaging (text askfplct to 833-232-4100).

Keep a distance of at least 6 feet whether inside or outside.

Please do not bring food into the library at this time.

Enter and exit through the doors on the parking lot side of the building. Please use available sanitizer when entering the building. Observe all social distancing rules and signage. Facemasks are required at all times covering the nose and mouth. If you are unable to wear a face covering, virtual/digital materials and services are available to you.

Children’s Department visits should be kept to 30 minutes, for quick browsing and the borrowing of materials. Play areas and toys are unavailable at this time. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times and our youngest patrons must be kept in the immediate vicinity of their caregiver (preferably in a stroller or carrier). No food or drink are permitted in our buildings. We now offer limited in-person outdoor library programming, while continuing to host virtual programs.

• Frequent cleaning of the building and service points.
• Staff and patrons will wear masks at all times and maintain a social distance of 6 feet.
• Each service desk has a plexiglass shield.
• No materials donations will be accepted at this time.

Late fees will be waived during this time, but we ask that you return material on or before the due date. Holding materials beyond the due date without renewing may impact your ability to place holds, access services or prevent other patrons from borrowing wanted materials.
