After having witnessed the tragic death of their father, the two young girls, Desiree and Stella don’t spend much time leaving their hometown. Their residence is a constant reminder of why they shouldn’t be who they are. As black-American’s they undergo pressure to be someone else to fit in. Mallard Louisiana cant keep these siblings in the town for long, before they rush to leave as everything triggers tragic memories. Their lives outside their hometown are nothing like they imagined and their lives undergo a shift as they are no longer together. Their lives would seem nothing short of normal outside of Louisiana. The sisters treasure their time apart, but enjoy eachothers company after a long awaited reunion.
