Down Under

The downUNDER Teen Space at Fairfield Woods Branch Library

Open Monday through Thursday from 2:50 pm – 4:45 pm

The downUNDER is a librarian-supervised, free, after-school program open on a drop-in basis to students in grades 6 and up. The downUNDER is a place where students can receive homework help, utilize a computer lab, or simply hang out with friends. Students may also participate in daily activities from crafts and gaming to trivia organized and lead by the Young Adult Librarian. The downUNDER is open Monday-Thursday from 2:50-4:45pm when school is in session.

Please note we close early on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Students using the library on those days need to make arrangements to be picked up by 5pm.

***Unless otherwise noted, all downUNDER programs are for Grades 6 & up

3:00 – 4:45 PM

This month we will truly be mixing it up with Lego big builds, puzzles, and yes, even play dough.   May 7, 14, & 21.

All month long, we will be playing old favorites including Bingo, Hang-man, and Pictionary (with prizes, of course!) And, as always every Tuesday we will be setting up the Xbox for group gaming or use one of our laptops from our mobile computer lab to game online with a group of your friends.  May 1, 8, 15, & 29.

Painting and ink drawing/doodling will be our activities for Wednesdays in May.  Painting clay, canvas, and seashells will be just a few things we try our hand at this month.   Stop in the downUNDER on Wednesdays to see what we will be doing! May 2, 9, 16, 23, & 30.

Think you know it all?  Prove it and join us in the downUNDER on Thursdays for our Kahoot trivia challenge.  Bring your own device or use one of our laptops.  Laptops available on a first come basis. May 3, 10, 17, 24, & 31.

FRIDAYS: Computer Lab!

Fridays the downUNDER space will be open as a computer lab only.  We will have a mobile laptop cart and 5 PC units available for Teen patron use. May 4, 11, 18, & 25.
