PharosSelf Service Internet/Computer Reservation System frequently asked questions | computer use | computer sign-up | wireless access We have a self-service Internet/computer reservation system on our computers. This system, called Pharos, allows people who use the Internet or the word processing computers to make their own reservations. Pharos is used in the Children's Library as well as the adult library. The goal of the system is to make the reservation process more efficient. Pharos also includes a system for printing. The printing system tells the user how many pages will be printed when a print request is made. The user can then decide to proceed with the print job or cancel it. A new centralized high-speed laser printer has been installed with the system along with a debit card payment method. Patrons who use our Internet and word processing machinesneed a valid Connecticut Public Library card in order to place a reservation once the new system is installed. Regular users of these computers are being requested to get their library cards now to avoid any delays when the new system is in place. Click here for a list of frequently asked questions.
