Food for Fines

Food for Fines @ the Fairfield Public Library

Food_for_finesAs part of Fairfield’s 375th Anniversary celebration, the Fairfield Public Library will sponsor a “Food for Fines” drive from Monday, April 21 through Friday, April 25, 2014.

For each single food item listed on the Fairfield 375 Food Drive website a patron brings in to the Fairfield Public Library or Fairfield Woods Branch Library, we will waive the accrued fines on one overdue item returned that day. This does not apply to overdue museum passes or Little Learners Circle Time Totes. Food items may not be used to pay fines already on a patron’s record for materials that have been returned prior to Food for Fines week.
If you don’t have fines, your donations will also be welcomed. Only nonperishable food items and health care items that are not expired and that are in good condition will be accepted. Candy and items in glass jars and plastic bags will not be accepted. All donations must be in their original packaging and are subject to approval of library staff.

Fees for lost or damaged materials will not be waived.

For a list of items accepted, see this printable list. Visit the Fairfield 375th Anniversary Food Drive Website for more details.
