Fairfield Public Library is pleased to announce MyLibraryDV, a FREE
on-demand video service, is now available on your home computer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!
All you need is a broadband internet connection and a Fairfield Public Library card. Access hundreds of hours of film on cooking, travel, health, literature, classic movies, and more. For a complete list of programs, click here. You can also find downloadable video files in the library catalog.
Each video has a 7-day check-out period. You may have up to 10 downloaded programs at any given time as long as space on your computer’s hard drive is available.
Getting Started
Click on the image at the right to install the Download Manager. This one-time requirement should take a few minutes.
Choose a video to watch.
Follow the instructions to log on – you will need your Fairfield Library card.
Already Installed the Player?
If you have already installed the download manager, launch the player using the
icon on your desktop.
Viewing Your Program
After you have chosen a video, click on the “Download” icon and the title will be added to your “My Downloads” play list and begin to download immediately. Within a few minutes a “Play” icon will appear and you can begin watching your program when the download completes. Varying speeds of broadband can cause buffering. If this occurs, pause your viewing and allow the program to download completely.
After you have downloaded a program, open the MyLibraryDV Player on your computer. Go to your “My Downloads” play list, click the play button next to the program you want to watch and enjoy.
If you prefer, you can connect your computer to a television to watch the movie. Click on “Help” in the MyLibraryDV player, and click on “Watch informative MLDV videos.” There are two short films there about connecting your computer to a television.
