Guidelines for Planning a Class/Group Visit to the library
request form

Teachers and group leaders are encouraged to arrange visits to the Fairfield Children’s Library. Preschools and Elementary schools should schedule programs through the Children's Library (203) 256-3161. Middle schools and High schools, and colleges should contact the Teen Department at (203) 255-7394.

Preschool class/group visits to the library generally consist of a brief introduction to what is found in the building and how libraries work, followed by a tour, and a few stories or a film. The entire program generally takes approximately 45 minutes. Programs can be tailored to meet each group's individual needs.

Programs are arranged on a first come, first served basis, and are subject to staff and room availability. Requesting a trip at least two weeks in advance gives the Children's Department time to arrange for staffing. To arrange a tour, print a copy of our form and mail it to the Children's Library at the address below to schedule a library visit or call the Children's Department .

If you have questions or would like to schedule a visit, please contact Mary Sorhus in the Children's Library at (203) 256-3161 or by email at msorhus@fplct.org. If you must cancel your visit, please call as soon as possible so other classes may schedule.
