GETTING A LIBRARY CARD
You can get a Fairfield Library card
- If you are a Fairfield resident or live with a Fairfield family
- If you live in another town, you get a card at your hometown library and you may use it here.
- If the children in your care live in Fairfield and need a library card either the parents visit the library and fill out a registration form OR You may take the form home to be filled out, but the parents must bring it back with a valid proof of a Fairfield address
CHILDREN’S LIBRARY PROGRAMS
- The children’s library printed calendar lists all of the children’s programs.
- Also available on the library website, fairifeldpubliclibrary.org.
- Some programs require registration which can be done in person, online or by phone. The calendar will give details.
- Other programs are on a drop in basis. Please come early to avoid disappointment as space is limited.
COMPUTERS
The children’s Library provides three computers with games pre-loaded on them, three computers for internet access and one computer available for use by adults only.
- A child’s library card is needed to log on to the game and internet terminals.
- A reservation may be made for the next available computer at our Pharos station to the right of the children’s reference desk. Instructions are provided there or ask the librarian for help.

- No food or drinks are allowed in the Children’s Library. Only liquids in a closed baby bottle may be used. This includes the gazebo area in front of the elevator.
- Children under 10 years of age may not be in the library without an adult for any period of time.
- We ask patrons to be considerate of others and use inside voices and remember to walk in the children’s library
This information and more is covered in a library walk-thru scheduled periodically in the Children's Library. Inquire at the Children's Reference Desk for times.
